Rodney Jerkins has released a new Janet song featuring Pitbull titled "HeartBeatLove." The song can be streamed and downloaded at Jerkins site. You need to register to the website in order to view the link.
This is the final version of a demo revealed several weeks ago, which at the time was titled "Not My Love."
According to people familiar with the project, "HeartBeatLove" is not being released as a single. Janet allowed Rodney Jerkins to release the albums to fans "for fun."
The video for the 25th anniversary recording of "We Are the World" will have its world premiere on Friday night sometime between 7:30 PM EST and midnight during NBC's live broadcast of the Winter Olympics opening ceremonies in Vancouver.
Janet recorded lines for the remake of the song last Tuesday while in Atlanta. The other performers recorded their vocals together at a Hollywood studio one day prior. It has been reported that Janet sang the same lines that her brother Michael Jackson did on the original version. The re-recording's official title is "We Are the World 25 for Haiti."
Immediately following the televised premiere, both the song and video will be made available to purchase on iTunes. Proceeds of each download go to the We Are the World Foundation, a non-profit organization whose funds will be directed to worthwhile charities, hand-selected by the board of directors, which include Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie. The artists have agreed to forego payment, so the Foundation can receive a greater share of the proceeds. iTunes has even waived its share of the proceeds for downloads for the first months of the Foundation's campaign. Additional donations to the Foundation can be made on its official website at www.world25.org.
The Wonderland Magazine published on their website scans from the magazine which features new photos of Janet. The new Wonderland Magazine hits newsstands on February 5.
Janet is expected to participate in a new version of "We Are The World" that is being recorded for Haiti earthquake victims according to a report from Reuters.
Most of the singers participating in the song, which included Barbara Streisand, Kanye West, Celine Dion, Tony Bennett, LL Cool J, will.i.am, and Josh Groban, recorded their vocals together on Monday at the same Hollywood studio where the original version of the song was made.
Janet, however, was not present at the session on Monday but rather is scheduled to sing her lines from a studio in Atlanta on Tuesday. Janet is in Atlanta right now to film promotional materials for the release of Why Did I Get Married Too?
More than 70 celebrities lent their voices to the re-recording of the song. None of the singers of the original song were invited to participate in the update, which was recorded once again under the oversight of Quincy Jones and the song's co-writer Lionel Richie.
The song will make its world premiere during NBC's coverage of the Vancouver Winter Olympics on Feb. 12.
Both the song and an accompanying video, shot by Oscar-winning "Crash" director Paul Haggis, will go on sale both through traditional and online retailers. All proceeds will go to a newly established foundation that will carefully monitor disbursement.
